No Going Back

As my fingers
listened and
my ears watched
my mind
slowly walked away.

My eyes thought
of a time long ago,
when my fingers felt and
my nose smelt;
when my brain thought
my ears heard and
my mouth tasted.

As my eyes sought
to remember
how long ago it was,
my body knew there was no going back.

My fingers
listened and
my ears watched
as my mind
slowly walked away.

  1. Beautiful, thought provoking and at times mind-bending prose. I loved it from beginning to end. 🙂 Thanks!
