Hail La Forge!

Oh, hail to the group La Forge!
We write poems.
Yes, we write poems.

I may bring the raw materials:
my words     or naught;
my experiences    or naught;
my impressions   or naught;
my almost…indescribables…or naught.

Sometimes… sometimes–
I even bring completed works
or works in progress   or not.

The group bids and I read
tidbits of creativity
thus far captured on paper
and then, and then—
Oh, let the group work begin.

Rumination digests all content
from the explicate
to the merely bidden to the—
oh so often, cleverly hidden.

MY words—
discarded— gently     or NOT;
MY phrases—
turned over— delicately    or NOT.

And then, and then…

Critiquing—
Made gingerly    or NOT,
followed by suggestions—
made gracefully    or NOT.

And then… and then—
The resulting creation’s read
while I, spectator in awe, listen
to a poem I dared not envision.

And so…?  And so—

Hail to the group La Forge!
We write poems.
Yes!  WE right, that’s r-i-g-h-t, poems!
And THAT’s not for naught!

  1. That was wonderful. 🙂 I’m also glad I’m not the only one to use naught.
