I haven’t had the energy to
wipe away certain memories of you.
Been trying too… Over and over again.

drag up the remaining bits.

Two who one day became three?

In a way, I’m so glad I never did.

Ah… perfect tribute to what we’ve shared.

No regrets, thus no more need for tears.
Turn pages. Close chapters. Heal…and perhaps
wipe away certain memories of you.

I do agree and don’t agree with your bonding comment.
Do because, well, personnally I just do…LOL!
Don’t becauseI discovered something new: parental jealousy can tear apart the foundations of a relationship. Be it between the parents (as in “I can do THAT better than you”) or unilateral/unidirectional owing to the birth of a child (as in “You no longer pay attention to/care about ME”).

Wow, this was quite a powerful piece on that picture!! I love how you repeated some lines in the next stanza and so forth. It gave the whole thing a very unified feel.

Glad you felt the power from this one. It’s based on a form of poetry that I learned from our mate Jo called the Pantoum.
A Pantoum poems follows quite specific rules:
The 2nd & 4th lines of the previous stanzas become the 1st & 3rd of the next stanzas. Then, when you are ready to end your poem, the 3rd line from the first stanza becomes the 2nd line in the last stanza, while the 1st line of the first stanza becomes the end line of the last stanza.
This may seem confusing at first, but once your mind gets around these rules, it’s amazing what happens!
But then again, one of my nicknames IS Ms Spock (Star Trekkie me…heh, heh, heh), so maybe that’s why this form appeals to me…LOL!

wow, nicely done… i know the pain felt of the writer. i was married once too but we are now separated due to differences that cannot be compromised between the both of us. but look at our son! he is the perfect tribute to what we shared! thanks for writing this piece!

indeed he is. though we can’t settle our differences, part of my heart still belongs to her. sadly we cannot make peace anymore as my anger for what she did is heavier than my compassion. anyway, thanks for composing this wonderful piece
